hi
im from the uk so i can only watch reruns on abc1 which iv only recently got so ive only seen a couple of episodes. what are everyones favourites and what seasons are they from? im thinking of getting some of the seasons on dvd but i havnt really got a taste of what pre-lesbian humour is like yet. tho i recently saw an episode called "Neighbours" where Ellen dresses in this chicken suit and is clambering over her roof nd it is hillarious!!! and it doesnt even mention her sexuality even tho its in season 5. are the other seasons based on this sort of humour?? thanx

The first three seasons are the funniest by far. After she came out, the show wasn't the same for some reason. It still had the same sense of humour as before but it just wasn't up to the same par.

My personal favorite episode is from Season 3 called "Salad Days" (I think) and it guest stars Martha Stewart. A funny, funny episode. Also the episode when she does come out is quite funny too. Probably the last real funny episode she did.

i love the episode "Salad Days" w/ Martha Stweart, i think it is sooo funny! Ellen hosting a dinner party! Classic its in season 3

OMG I looooooove the Thanksgiving episode with Martha Stewart!!!! It is by far the best and funniest. I just love Ellen's humor. I remember watching the show when it ran on tv and I was so disappointed when it was cancelled. I should really invest in the DVD's, but I've been taping the rerun episodes, they are on Oxygen at 9am.

The Martha Stewart episode was really memorable. Ellen started airing again where I live and that's the episode I'm really looking forward to.

Also the Spa episode, the episode where Paige throws a baby shower for her sister and Ellen tapes thirtysomething over the birth is really funny. The episode where Ellen is arrested and the judge forces her to live with her parents and the episode where she gives blood and then gets drunk and sings this song on top of a piano is hysterical. I can't wait to see that one again.

Oh, and the Christmas episode where she keeps trying to break up with her boyfriend but she just can't do it. I loved the girl they hired for the holidays and how she started going out with Joe, and they fought all the time.

There were a lot of good episodes of this show.

I loved when Ellen got arrested and was sentenced to live with her parents and I loved the one where she started dating a pizza delivery guy and was embarrassed because the guy didn't have any ambition to do anything else. He then shows up on her doorstep to announce that he's moving to Italy...to deliver pizza.

Hi i have enjoyed every season of Ellen, the one where her friends take her to 'Rock Camp'(get to be in a rock band for the weekend) for her birthday is funny - many episodes are coming to mind the double episode when Paige is supposed to get married is fantastic, watching Ellen trying to stop her going down the aisle is brill. Im trying to get as many as i can on DVD. Bye.

Although I think I have seen most of the series I only own the first 3 on DVD so those are the only ones that are fresh in mind, so for me the funniest out of those 3 would have to be 'Witness' from season 3 when she plays a stripper witness at Spence's mock trial. I love it when shes asked what her name is and she goes 'Lola Bigcups' and then the guy asks is that your real name and she goes 'no its my stage name, my real name is Mary Bigcups' LOL Hilarious!

OK, I should probably look up the official episode names, and I am only going from memory because I haven't got the DVDs yet., but

I agree with The Spa, the paige getting married (the bachelorette party is so funny!), and the martha stewart one!

There is the William Ragsdale one (I think it is the two part "30-kilo man") where he comes back and is more successful and they think he might be into some illegal activities. Ellen and her mother are hysterical!!!!!

There are several episodes I love a lot, some that immediately come to mind are:

"Oh Sweet Rapture" - hilarious send-up of that mid 90s Saturn automobile ad campaign.

"When The Vow Breaks" - two-part episode with Paige's wedding

"Witness" - "My name is Lola Bigcups and I am a stripper!"

"Ellen's Choice" - the BOOK CHAT SHOW episode.

"Ellen, With Child" - Ellen sits for Paige's fiance's daughter and ends up having to teach her the facts of life (the part where she tries to communicate on the blackboard is hysterical!).

"Looking Out For Number One" - Ellen has second thoughts about her new therapist after she sees her relieving herself in a restaurant parking lot.
