Right now I'm watching the Rapture episode, and one got me right in the lungs:
AUDREY: Is anyone having trouble with their cupholder because mine seems to be too small for my coffee cup. ELLEN: *from counter, sarcastically* Are you using your Rapture cup? RAPTURE GROUP MEMBER: Well, are you? ELLEN: There's a rapture cup?
Or when Ellen insults the Raptoids and lures Audrey into the 1996 Rapture with the promise of a three-way map light.
Or in 'Morgan, P.I.', when Ellen wrestles with her hidden microphone, or when Ellen breaks down in front of Martha Stewart ('And suddenly I open my door and there's Martha Stewart and aliens and the Weird Bald Guy and hens and-')
I like loads of one liners in this sitcom. My favourite:
In the episode where Ellen is in Court as a stripper Judge: Is Lola Bigcups your real name?
Ellen:It used to be [can't remember what she says]Bigcups but I changed it.
Ellen: Christmas isn't just presents, it's aboutg being w/ your family and friends Mum: Whatever dear!
The bit where that mans a criminal or something and he's trying to sell Ellen an alarm system and Ellen's been wired and it goes down her leg, so she has to put her leg and bum in the man's dace. I was cracking up so much.
Ellen: The last time you were my friend I ended up on the Jerry Springer show, My Child still isn't married yet!
Ellen: (In mrs croger ep) I could have got angry when Jo mooned Lloyd, or when Lloyd mooned Jo, or when Jo and Lloyd mooned me and accidently mrs Henderson and her year 4 class on a field trip and I could've been angry when Mrs henderson mooned me! There are loads more...
"One of us, one of us, gooble goble, gooble gobble..."
I like the one where she decides to be totally obnoxious on her radio show (final season, I think). Somebody calls in to complain that her grandmother died of a disease, and Ellen responds [paraphrasing here], "In honor of your grandma, I'm going to drive all the way home with my left turn signal on."
A classic moment of physical comedy as brilliant as anything Lucy ever did was when Ellen was replacing the water cooler bottle that was just too heavy for her. Most of the water went all over the floor but she did manage to get the job done.
Her reactions are priceless, and the way she seemed satisfied when she finally secured the (3/4 empty) bottle to the cooler has me lasughing even now. I only saw it once and have no idea which season/episode it was, but I'd love to see it again.
"What do you want me to do, draw a picture? Spell it out!"
