'Spencer' is not funny at all

i realized that the shows started to get less funny after adam left and spencer came in. He kind of ruined it for me.
A lot of what he does isn't funny at all, how he acts, etc.
He seems too hyper, annoying. Also the fact that audry became a main character kind of ruined the whole "annoying friend to avoid" view she had.
The best cast was season two...adam should have never left. Maybe its just me though.

I agree with you. I prefer Adam too. He was funny and there's something really warm and friendly about him.

I wish he had stayed on the show.

My family and I couldn't agree more. Spence was the beginning of the end for ELLEN. Adam was great. We even tried to give "Spence" a chance, but it just wasn't working. I just don't find Jeremy Piven to be funny.

Piven is hilarious on ENTOURAGE (for which he's received 3 consecutive Emmys), but I agree he's a bit of a dud on ELLEN. I think the intention was to make him more of a straight man for Ellen than Adam ever was, but it wasn't executed right.

Incidentally, I love that Audrey became a regular character. It cracked me up how she'd get on Ellen's last nerve, especially in the episode when her car broke down and Ellen had to drive her to work every day. LOL!

I find that Spence was a needed addition to the series. His raw personality and his relationiop with Paige played nicely in season 3 and 4.

Glad to see the consensus is against Spence.

I also loved Adam's lovable schlub personality far more. Don't we all know a guy like that lol? He was funny, in his un-funny way, whereas Spence was just un-funny in his un-funny way!
