Ellen is responsible for what I believe is the funniest scence in television history (again, I said "I believe" - I'm sure MANY people will disagree). It is in an episode where Spence is involved in a mock trial and Ellen ends up being a witness who was a stripper. Honestly, I don't know if I've ever laughed so hard at a television show. Can anyone tell me the title of the episode and which season it's in?

shareIt IS in Season 3 (and in the DVD box set) however the episode is actually titled "Witness". The mock trial indeed was hysterical, but I also liked the running gag throughout the episode where they played "Mystery Date" in the bookstore (the Spaghetti Western-style tag at the end is pure genius!!!)

It's confusing, because there was an unaired 1st season ep. originally called "Witness," and guest starring a very un-Bensonlike Mariska Hargitay, that was eventually aired as "The Mugging," but you see it referred to as "The Witness" occasionally still. In reruns, "The Mugging" airs during the third season, along with another 1st season ep. the had not aired. I'm really not sure why. It may have been because of the writer's strike, or because the show was cancelled, then renewed, and there wasn't a full-season package.
shareYes, this is one of Ellen's finest moments. My stomach hurt from laughing so much the first time I saw it, and it still inspires almost as much of a reaction as many times as I've seen it.
shareOne ep of Ellen that had me in Stitches was the Season 4 episode making whooppie. It was when she goes to Spencer's boss wine tasting party and Ellen gets drunk and she sings making Whoopie on the piano! I WAS HISTERICAL!!!!!!!!!
