The Coming Out Episode

Hey! These days I was so busy tryin' to find the song at the end of this episode. Does anyone/anybody know the song's name at the end?

I don't know the name but it's the theme song that was used for the program. I doubt it has a name.

The original song, to the same tune, is by a group named Texas, that took its name from the Wim Wenders' film Paris, Texas.

It's about the false friends the come out of the woodwork when there's even a hint that you might make it "big" in the business. It goes like this:

Yeeeaaah I'm gonna make you wonder if you're my friend / ... Do you think you're close with all your promises / Do you think I act strange ... Yeah I may as well tell you, you'll never be my friend

I'm not sure if the Ellen version is just a reconceptualization of the song, or an actual responsa. Whichever-- it boils down to "I'm sincere; you can trust me." The way it's sung, it seems quite ingenuous, and I think we are supposed to take it at face value.

If you look for the full-length Texas song, you'll be disappointed, as it's very cynical. I don't know if there is a full-length "Ellen" version. But there should be.
