Recommendations from David Marciano fans...

Ok. I absolutely adore David, but Due South is the only thing I've seen him in. I've looked at his page on imdb but I've no idea what half the stuff is and it looks like its mostly small parts. Can anyone recommend me anything else he's in (for more than 5 minutes) that I could get hold of in the UK to watch??

Sorry, other than Due South I haven't really seen him in anything either. I think the last thing I did see him in was when he had a small part in "The Last Don".

I was thinking of searching out The Last Don anyway, as I like Mario Puzo; David would have just been a bonus in that, although I'm not holding my breath...

Guess he will always have to remain Ray Vecchio to me.

I have only seen him in two things besides Due South. I actually own both movies, and I've seen them quite a few times, so here you go...

In the film Kiss Shot, he playes a rival pool player to Whoopie Goldberg's star. It's a pretty decent role and he has more than a couple of scenes, but this movie really belongs to Whoopie and Dennis Franz...still good for an 80's flick though.

I also have the movie Around the Bend starring Christopher Walken, Josh Lucas, and Jonah Bobo. This movie is amazing. Very subtle humor and the emotion is not forced like other family dramas. It is essentially a road trip movie bringing four generations of the Lair family back together. I highly reccomend it.

David is hardly in this one, but it did make for a laugh when I saw it for the first time. He plays an FBI agent and when he showed his badge, my friend (also a Due South fan) goes "I bet HE could find Waldo if he took the book home for the weekend." Good stuff.

the shield, I guess. If you didnt get the DVD, it's on five now (series 5) and he's... in it. A little. Love his hopeless character anyway, bless :)

If you're really hardcore you might want to seek out the 'Wiseguy-Sonny Steelgrave and the Mob' DVD set, or somehow get your hands on the episode titled 'Loose Cannon'. He has a fairly big part in that one (in fact he's the loose cannon).

Yeah it's hard to justify buying the whole set (it's expensive) for one episode I know, but Wiseguy was a terrific series if you've never heard of it, having far more in common with (and is much superior to) today's gritty character driven dramas than the shoot-em-up car chase stuff that was so prevalent in the 80's, not to mention the subsequent 'Mel Profitt' story arc gave Kevin Spacey his first big acting break as Mel, so that adds to Wiseguy's mystique. (sorry I don't know if this show is available in the UK, it's getting pretty hard to find in Canada as it is).

All that said, I didn't particularly care for David's performance in 'Loose Cannon'. Thought he was miscast, but if you are a real fan it does make for a nice little slice of his early career.

I watched Kiss Shot originally just cause he was in it and was actually surprised. Cute little movie.

He also had a decent amount of screen time in Harlem Nights. Still cringe when I watch that piano scene... *shudders*

He had a relatively large part in a 2004 CSI episode, "XX". Played the guardian of a mentally challenged young man.
