Why?

Why was this series cancelled and how did it end?......apologies ive just begun watching it on re-runs and think its ok.

reply

It was actually cancelled a couple of times. To my knowledge. I don't think it did that well in the US, but Canadian and UK audiences enjoyed it enough to get it back up each time. I actually think the BBC helped fund the third series, but don't quote me on that one :)

Anyway, it ended properly, all nicely tied up and stuff. Although how much you'll actually enjoy the last episode... well, that's up to the viewer...

yes the BBC did recommision season three because it was a big audience draw. Problem was the the original Ray was a favourite and with him not being in season three, intrest died off so they never made a fourth. Most believe if David had been re-signed the series would have kept running a bit longer.

reply

Really? I loved the first Ray, but I loved the second Ray better :)
They're different and you can love them both... they both add a lot to the show!

i remember when it was first on in the UK. everyone was talking about it. especially when leslie neilson was in it. it's little wonder the bbc got involved

reply

i dunno. when it was originally airing i really disliked the new ray / stanley / whatever. but in retrospect CKR is a bl00dy brilliant actor. the guy was in memento for god's sake. i remember thinking then "wow, thats one angry biatch!"

and now he's in BSG...and steels the show every time he's in it too!

and if anyone has seen a little-known TV movie called "last night", then you'll know what i mean when i say he made it what it was...watchable!

bout time Callum got some wider audience recognition IMO
