I just looked at Yahoo Answers and they say not to touch this company. You might get the DVD's but they will likely be bad copies of the TV series recorded on tape and transferred to DVD, or maybe DVD copies from the series which has been running here in the UK for the last year. They won't be official copies in nice boxes.
Amazon and Play.com do not have CH on DVD for sale and I'd trust them over a company which I have never heard of before.
Looks like we have to wait a while longer, but in this current economic climate, I'm not holding my breath.
I attempted to purchase this DVD set and immediately noticed that it is NOT A SECURED SITE!! Never enter any credit card information on a site which is not secure.
I'd be skeptical of the authenticity of any complete TV series on DVD when the DVD box cover reads "VOLUME 1" like this one does.
shareDefinitely not. Fox will most likely never release this show on DVD. The music rights on "Chicago Hope" would be even more than "Miami Vice" and the classic "90120" combined. Their only other alternative would be the one that "90210" took: Don't pay for anything but the major songs and replace all the music with sound-alike crap. Somehow I suspect Kelley would never allow that.
It's a shame. I actually liked the show. Not as much as "ER," but it was still pretty decent.
"Fame has a fifteen minute half-life; infamy lasts a little longer."
I find it hard to believe that "Chicago Hope" will NEVER be released on DVD...it was WAY too popular of a TV show for them to not try to capitalize on its success, especially since it lasted six seasons and had a huge, loyal fan base who would be willing to pay good money to own it on DVD. As has been mentioned before, some of the stupidest, most useless shows that only lasted one season have already been released on DVD, so "Chicago Hope" would be a goldmine.
I understand that it comes down to music licensing issues, but I feel like they'll either do whatever it takes to get the rights to every single song, or they'll come up with some compromise to get around it. Either way, I still have faith that "Chicago Hope" will be released on DVD some day. At least, I REALLY hope so, lol! :)
agree. It's ironic but I've always thought that the best music ever produced for tv - and this series - was the theme to "Chicago Hope". This piece will probably be the easiest license issue to overcome.
shareWhich theme are you talking about? This show had 3 different themes. All three were great, but to me the second one is the best, and second best opening theme of all time behind only Picket Fences.
