Why is it taking so long for DVD?

I am truly baffled as to why this amazing show has still not yet made it to DVD. What is the hold up, people?! It's been extremely difficult to find anyone to write to and ask why, when, etc. This show made me feel like I was a part of it (I cried when they cried, I laughed when they laughed, etc.). It far surpassed ER, yet every season of ER is avaialable on DVD but NOT Chicago Hope. It just blows my mind. It would be so nice if someone could give some answers.

The reason is the same as DEK's other shows 'Ally McBeal' and 'Boston Public': Music Rights. When those are sorted we should see al great DEK shows on DVD. In the meantime 'The Practice' and 'Picket Fences' arrive in stores next month.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that music rights is what is keeping these shows from being released on DVD. One Tree Hill, The O.C., The Sopranos, etc are all shows that have WAY more music in them and yet all have been released on DVD WITH the music still intact and yet most of DEK's shows can't be? I'm sorry but that's very suspicious to me. I can't remember where I read it but I read that DEK doesn't want his shows released on DVD because it would eat into his syndication money that he gets when networks do reruns of these shows. Even though no networks are playing them now they have a higher market value (and a higher chance of being picked up for syndication) if they are not available on DVD. Sounds like greed on DEK's part to me and not some BS about music rights. This plus the way he is known to treat his casts tells me that he is quite selfish and egotistical.

It's available in Region 2. If you can find a region-free DVD or blu-ray player, you're set!

The X-Files 2016!
