Best Hope Ep Ever!!!

I just watched "Transplanted Affection". The best Hope ep ever, maybe the best ep ever on TV. Highlights:

Geiger tells Aaron he should grow a beard, Aaron says no, that people say he looks like George Cloony. Billy walks in, Geiger asks him if he thinks Aaron looks like George Cloony, Billy says: I don't know who that is.

Man gives pregnant brain-dead wife's heart to Dan Lauria (the baby is born healthy)

Geiger tells Kate's ex that he doesn't like him

Kate slaps Philip, Geiger tells Philip that he was out of line (he was)

Kate loses daughter to ex during the week, tearful goodbye

Geiger doesn't let Camille carry harvested heart (she's dropped one before)

Just the fact that Mandy Patinkin guess starred!

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THESE EPISODES ARE ABOUT !

One of my faorites are the one when Geiger makes a guest apperance with a lot clowns. Himslef and other doctors dressed as clowns who make the childern in the hospital happy !

I love that one too. I just LOVED the song Geiger sang at the end about the Emporer's New Clothes. I'd love to see that again. I can never make up my mind about Mandy Patinkin's voice, but he was off the charts that day!

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot

That sure was a good episode ! I thnik Mandy Patikin acutally sings that good!

I also like this conversation between him and Camille Shut (head-nurse).
When she sees a lot of clowns in the hospital

Camille - " Clowns dont belong in hospitals ..."
Geiger . " Neither do children "

Wrong, and wrong.

The lines are from the episode "The Parent Rap", not Patch Adams.

And its not Camille who says the first one, it's one of the other nurses. In fact, later in the episode, when Geiger is just staring at all the kids in horror, Camille walks over and says, "Why don't you sing?"

If you think Mandy Patinkin is a good singer then I highly recomend his CD Experiment. The song Taxi sends chills down my spine and I love his rendition of Somewhere That's Green from Little Shop of Horrors.

I was watching today on Discovery Health channel (who knew?) and I saw one of my two favorite episodes. It was "Simon Sez", guest starring John Ritter as a mentally challenged man who is having heart problems and while at the hospital, he and his wife find out that she was given an involuntary historectomy...so sad.

My favorite ep of all, however, is "Brain Salad Surgery" where Aaron has a brain aneurysm. The reason is this, "I got a brand new pair of rollerskates, you've got a brand new key" GREAT!

OK, that ain't no lie! "Brain Salad Surgery" was a great ep. I LOVED that it was like a musical... "luck be a lady tonight, luck be a lady tonight, luck be a lady if you've ever been a lady, luck be a lady toniiiiight!" That was KICKS!

I Agree with runnerludd about the two best chicago hope episodes. I wish they would put them out on DVD but for some reason David E Kelley never puts his shows on DVD, or should I say rarely. Most likely so all the networks will by them year in and year out for high ratings as CHICAGO HOPE WAS THE BEST DOCTOR DRAMA MADE....

What is it going to take to get this on DVD? I loved this series, and I have so many of Mandy's CDs. Wonderful! Not to forget Adam Arkin, Hector Elizondo, Barbara Hershey, Christine Lahti - and of course, Mandy! There is little on TV to rival Chicago Hope and A Year in the Life.

I've only seen a couple of episodes. But the one I liked most was when everyone in the hospital got sick. Then Aaron got sick and that chick was there when he woke up. I thought it was cute.

I think this episode was Season 1, the older doctor was there, they were on quarantine. I rewatched ER so I'd enjoy watching Chicago Hope again.

Life Support is a great episode, one of my favorites. But #1 Chicago Hope episode is now and will always be Leave of Absence when Alan Birch is killed and Geiger leaves. First of all, the emotional scene of the morgue parade when the staff escorted Alan's body to the funeral parlor hearse.

But more than that part is the opening scene where Geiger finds himself the #1 Cardio-thoracic surgeon in the nation, and Kate isn't even ranked.

Kate: "I'm not even ranked?"
Geiger: "Don't take it personally, Kate. It's probably some feminist backlash. They probably think someone who looks the way you look couldn't possibly be a good surgeon. Though, to me I don't get it. You're not that much to look at."

And when Diane Grad sees the shooter in the ER with a gunshot wound, she sticks her finger in it and tortures the guy. That is easily one of the best written and best acted episode of any show DEK has ever done.

I was reading your post and thought the format was great and was written very well I was going to tell you I remembered living in Malibu,ca and they aired both e.r and c.h at the same time.I accidentally found c.h while e.r was in commercial and before I knew it the premier of next week's episode was airing.But I remember talking to my friend and he too decided c.h over e.r but I saw your signature and it through me off.It such more polite than only losers use drugs.Of course I am a bit obtuse and it could mean something different.you seem too cool.✡shalome aleykem
