Landis' 'illusions' *spoilers*

*spoilers*

Now of course, we all know Landis was a psycho....but why do you think he went off with those 2 children? Do you think he was trying to "shatter" the illusion that Julia was in charge and that the children were safe in the nice home?
Just curious what everyone thought of this "unexplained" psycho's motivations, since the film provides none.

I watched the film again with my mom. We both agree that you are right, Ladis wanted to break the illusion about the children being safe because they lived in a nice house with parents who had money. The whole act he had with his faceless dummy was about the illusion we have in life like when he insulted that woman and then the frat brothers.
