How much more can Jill take? (SPOILERS)

Poor Jill. I thought that she was going to prevail (or, more to the point, would *not have to* prevail over any more horrible things happening directly to her). Stupid me. I thought she'd be the hero, like Cliff was in the original. She helped a great deal obviously yes, yet they still could not resist in (needlessly) f'cking her character up again. She gets stalked, threatened, jumped-out-at <<that was nuts!>>, attacked and shot, for God's sake. That pissed me off.

How much more is she supposed to take? Terrorized at 18, then again 7 years later, that 2nd time with her own kids and husband's lives very possibly at stake as well.

Notice we hear/learn nothing about the husband or kids in this film. We can speculate why until the cows come home, yet I guess it doesn't matter in the long run... for here she is left to be all alone in the cruel world. Here she was supposed to be the PROTECTOR, not the (repeated) victim... but the laugh was on us, on the audience.

I am in no way saying that Julia deserved what she got, but if she did *have to* be the victim, why not stop there, instead of bringing Jill into it also?

Another thing. Notice that now Jill is a women's rights activist, and works at a crisis center for women (as ususal for horror/thrillers, misogyny(sp?) is rampant. But that practically goes without saying). She obviously cannot let go of her horrific past - it seems to be with her constantly. That made me so sad for her. Please, if there's ever a sequel to THIS one, then LEAVE JILL ALONE ALREADY!!!

That's my 2 cents.

One last thought. The fact that there were topless waitresses at that dive makes my blood boil. Absolutely meritless and subsequently appalling.

I could relate to Julia. If you have your stuff in a certain spot you can tell if there is any subtle changes. The police most likely thought Julia was gaslighting herself, which is also possible from the stress. Gave me the creeps.
