OH..MY..GOD.

Best opening scene EVER. I can't believe this is a TV movie. GOD I actually got sweaty LOL, wich never happened to me, and I've seen just about every thriller/horror movie out there.

*mild spoilers*

I have to agree. This film does indeed have the best opening scene ever. It gives me chills to this day watching it, and I have seen it many times!!
People compare this film to "Scream", but while that is a very good film also, this film is better!
The chills are much more "subliminal" and the villain is scarier.

The only flaw in this film is that I wish more was revealed about the psychopath. That would have made the film almost perfect.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I'd like to see the beginning. I enjoyed the first part.

I kind of love that very little was revealed about the psychopath. I think we probably get the most insight from his 'act' at the stripclub, 'nothing is an act'. I think it's almost scarier that he's such a mystery. Sometimes you never get any answers. I think about the parents in this film who lost their kids, I think having them just snatched away with no explanation is very, very scary and real.

everything about this film gives me the creeps. Imagine being a teenager and while your babysitting the kids get taken. I loved the beginning with Julia. I agree the fact we did not get a lot of facts about the psychopath made it that scarier. The fact he stalked Julia again years later gave me the creeps and the fact there was no real motive for him to go after her again, eccept maybe he liked the game of scaring her to death.

I love how the illusion of living in a nice house is striped away. Anyone can lose their children.

I first saw this movie on Showtime in 1994 or 1995 -- the opening creeped the hell out of me then as a little kid and it still does now! Very good movie actually and I don't just mean that in an 'it's good for a TV movie' kind of way either. I actually saw it about 10 years before I saw the first film and overall it is definitely the better of the two.
