This film is shown every often on Lifetime movie network.
shareThat's where I just caught it. I didn't quite understand why they were both targeted by Landis and where were Jill's husband and kids?

All I could figure was why he targeted 'that house' she was babysitting in. He was obsessed with illusions, and breaking illusions. I truly think when he tormented Julia in the house & kidnapped the kids, he was shattering the illusion that she was safe, that she was in control. That bad things couldn't happen to upscale people who live in big, fancy houses.
I think he became obsessed with Julia then, in part because she escaped him.
He targeted Jill because she defied him (especially what she said in the hospital room about getting him) & he got angry.
I wish in a way we knew more about Landis. But again, this made him seem creepier.
The ending with Julia was a bit too abrupt too, although I think she still could speak (she makes a sound as she turns over & smiles)
I wondered about Jill's husband & kids too. But I guess she could have been divorced, and I imagine her kids would have been grown by then.
But I thought it odd how she made no mention of them to Julia.
"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."
LMN has been playing movies that aren't normal for them lately. A couple years back I saw Carrie on there and just a few weeks ago, I saw Wrong Turn 2 on there. None of those films or When A Stranger Calls Back feel suitable for Lifetime at all to me.
I've been waiting for you, Ben.
