Jill's mullet

Poor Jill Schoelen had a mullet in this movie. I think that's what ended her career.

God knows I love Jill, but that mullet was awful. I'm sure it wasn't her choice to have her hair and/or a wig done that way, but I wonder why they had to use THAT hairstyle.

Sure some years had passed, but how about just LONGER hair??

I almost got the feeling her character Julia was so messed up over what happened when she babysat that she didn't care about her looks. She said she wish she had friends, a future when she was talking to Clif. just a guess.

Good point there. I agree.

And let's face it, a mullet is about as far from 'care' as you can get hair-wise.

Although I enjoyed this third viewing of the movie, this time I did have time to think about Schoelen's style and all through the movie I kept thinking about giving her a makeover! She could be kinda cute if she fixed her hair and clothes.

I actually liked the short haircut in the beginning of the film, sort of a Mia farrow look.

That's what I thought too. Agreed!

Jill Schoelen who played Julia has that kind of face where she can pull of that kind of cut. I also like the offit she had on in the beginning of the film.

I agree she pulled off the haircut in the beginning. I liked the whole school girl look she had going on. Made her seem vulnerble. I didn't care for her hair for the rest of the film.

Lol, I was just coming here to post about the same thing. That was a wicked mullet.

Yea, it's bad enough they had her wear retarded looking clothes all throughout the movie.

That hairstyle she had was terrible!

Gosh, you all are making me feel rather creepy--which is appropriate for Friday the 13th. I'm a manly man so don't pay attention to details of girls' hair or make-up but I've got to admit that I agree with all the above comments. I just watched this flick on videotape, which only promotes Carol Kane & Charles Durning on the cover, and I was arranging my food as the beginning credits played so missed them. When I saw the babysitter, I thought, "Eh, what an unappealing gal." Yet I remember previously being a fan of the gorgeous Jill Schoelen. Now I guess I'll go look over Schoelen's list of other work to remind me of what I actually enjoyed watching her in. And see if she's done anything recently.

I thought more of Audrey Hepburn, and Winona Ryder... just sayin haha. I'll add Mia on that list.

She looked just lovely in the first part of the movie... I want to believe they had a very good reason to make her change for the rest of the movie.

I was 14-15 at the time (1993), and as far as I remember, that look wasn't very usual back then?  Years laters, though, I met many lesbians who would wear that hairdo and those clothes nearly as a uniform.

She went from the cute clothes to the very mannish haircut and clothes. I don't know why they had her character switch to those clothes in the movie. Perhaps they wanted her character to come off as not caring what she looked like due to depression or if wearing mannish clothes and haircut would be a sign of 'strength' and not vulnerability I just don't know.

Either way it was a terrible choice for her in my opinion.

That sounds like a good reason, and honestly, I never thought about it from that point of view. However, the second looks was -to say the least- distracting for several minutes, which prevents from concentrating on what really was a terrific, very moving performance. Still, a great movie, one of the best sequels ever, IMHO.

On the other hand, fortunately, thay made Carol Kane look great, very beautiful, sexy and glamorous.

She looked better with the mullet than short hair. 🤣

That mullet was the scariest part of the movie!
