Some Other Good Horror Anime...

Violence Jack, the original unrated version of part one. It;'s from the late, Great Go Nagai, the same evil genius that created Devilman. In the first movie, there are rape scenes, but they aren't done in the usual hentai standard of making them look like pornography. These scenes are more like real hurtful scenes and they aren't as arousing as the scenes in Overfiend. They have mosaics blurring the penetrations but they aren't that blurry. You can still see the shapes behind the mosaics. The film is by far the worst of the the triology. In part two and three, the violence is good and the sex is ok but it just doesn't make you squint like the first one does. There are scenes in Violence Jack that to some degree, are more visceral than even in Overfiend. Tey have a transexual in the movie, a dinosaur-like mutant leader who eats his dead girlfriend(the tranny) after Jack beheaded her, the evil gang'semale gang member slices openlittle kids(although they made the kids have light for blood, I guess even the Japaese have their limits), the kids eat a waterbug in nasty graphic detail, the girls are raped by the men and the mutants, Violence Jack rips the evil female gang member in half by holding her upside down naked and pulls her body apart by the legs, splitting her in half, the mutants kill a woman by shoving a broken bottle in her vagina(you don't see them do it but you know because Jack finds her tortured corpse that way), and pretty much lots of fighting including a major acid trip of a battle between Violence Jack and the mutant leader Mad-Saurus(who turned into a demon of a sort after eating the corpse of his lover,I don't know what that was about. Maybe a Japanese take on the Wendigo?) Anyway, with all of that I just said, you know what you're in for when you see it. Just make sure it's the original uncut Japanese version with English subtitles. If you get the American version in English it's not only cut, but some parts of the story were changed, like the transgendered individual becoming a regular woman, the cannibalism scene is shortened, the violence is toned down and the rapes are edited. It sucks. But if you were looking for a really depraved anime, this one ranks up there with Urotsukidoji Perfect Collection. Get it. Get it now.
