Okay, get your head around this theory! (The answer to Urotsukidoji II)

A friend of mine popped up on MSN and told me that he read somewhere that Urotsukidoji II takes place in Chojin's new world. If you have seen the Perfect Collection edition of Urotsukidoji I, Chojin tells Amano Jyaku that he will destroy the world but then restore it at a later date, except the people will love one another, apparently learning a lesson. He mentions how Nagumo & Akemi will be restored to their normal selves too.

Therefore, think about it. Urotsukidoji II could quite easily take place in this restored world. Amano & Megumi don't mention Nagumo's destiny as the Chojin at all, because they've already witnessed it. They're just hanging around with Nagumo & Akemi for the sake of it. I know Mimi's vision alludes to Urotsukidoj III, but continuity has never been Urotsukidoji's greatest aspect.

I really think this theory is sound, and would certainly solve the sequel/interquel debate.

That is quite possible. And continuity in this series is indeed suspect. But then again, one can never really tell unless the creator of the story, Toshio Maeda himself comes forward along with Anime 18 and Central Park Media in order to give a commentary on this. So far, neither he nor any of the writers, producers, executive producers, directors or even the voice actors themselves have commented on any of this. Maybe it's intentional, like they deliberately want the fans to come up with their own ideas for why the story in part two(in the American versions, that is) is so seemingly disconnected from the story in the first movie. Of course, in the Japanese version, I think it makes slightly more sense to me than the sliced up edited mess that was Legend Of The Demon Womb, but at least the American version showed slightly more than the Japanese version did, which is a plus. Still, story wise, that theory is plausible. But I'm going for my own theory, which is that the events chronicled in Urotsukidoji II simply take place just shortly after the events chronicled in Urotsukidoji Perfect Collection parts 1 & 2 but before the events chronicled in part 3, like somewhere after Niki died but before the cataclysmic ending. Or it could be right in between the time when Niki was going to attack Nagumo and Akemi, which, chronologically, should work provided that the events that took place in Demon Womb were only within a span of a couple of months.
