The cut versions mess up the story, but mainly they are pretty much the same. You have more graphic sex and the violence is largely unchanged in the uncut versions. The story also makes a hell of a lot more sense in the uncut versions, but if you like part three and four, and the New Saga, then get the cut American versions because they flow well together plot wise. Also, in the American version of part two there is a sequence that reveals Myuni Haussen's origin on how he met Kohoki that was oddly enough removed from the original version. Furthermore, the sequence in part two with the Nazi Death-Rape Machine in 1944 shows a slightly altered destruction of the Nazi base and(I guess for authenticity) that whole sequence is in German. This is for the uncut part 2. Other than that, that's pretty much basically it. If I were you, I'd try to get the uncut versions and the Hell On Earth box set which has the American versions of all four films, just for collector's value and comparisons.
