Actually I looked at the other magical dimension of Jyujinkai to be more like the biblical hell lite, with the other magical dimension of Makai to be more like the biblical hell concentrate and the dimension of Ninjinkai to be the physical manifestation of purgatori. The Kurokos are obviously the creatures that inspired many myths and legends about ghosts, and goblins and the Makemonos are unwanted crossbreeds that are the products of a random convergence of varying biologies, no more, no less.
