shareWow...I never thought afilm like this could screw someone up so much...I can't really relate to how your feeling except that when I was 5 I watched the Shining and that scared the hell outta me...But its one of my favourate films now...
You generalise and say that anyone who enjoyed this film is a rapist in the making and stuff like that...I went out with a girl who was raped when I was 15, so I know the damage rape can cause a person...
But I still enjoyed this film because it was extreme, because it set out to shock you...Ofcourse anime can only shock you so much, because at the end of the day its a cartoon...Whatever you do don't watch the film Salo...
And if you had of carried on watching it you would have found out that, no, there is no hero who saves the girl and kills the bad guy...I personally hate stories like that and was glad to see one where that didn't happen...
I thought the rape scenes were so over the top they were laughable...Its been a year or so since I've watched this film but to my knowledge, something like if you drink the blood or the semen of someone infected you also become infected...So semen gets consumed an awful lot...I mean come on have a bit of originality as oppose to mindless oral sex and rape scenes..
With all due respects, mate, it seems to me that your quite a fragile person having watched this film when you were young...I guess violence and rape don't bother some people as much as others, even if they have seen the affects of it first hand...We're all different...If everyone in the world was the same, everyone would be like me...That would suck...
I hope you sort yourself out and realise its just a cartoon, made up in someones head, and can't hurt you...

sorry, but I just can't believe this. you rented a movie with roughly three warnings on it stating that it was for adults only, you were 11 (I'm assuming you matured at an average rate, and thus looked it.) and you just dort of sat through the eight or so "absolutely not for children" warnings. If this film has disturbed you, I'm sorry to hear it, but don't lecture the people who did like about how it has no value and it's evil. It's fiction. Does this film glorify rape? No it does not. If it glorified rape the thegirls would not be traumatized at all, and the sex scenes wouldn't be so dark an brooding. So please, don't lecture me on how this movie is evil and worthless.
and btw, there is nothing wrong with hentai in general. there are some sub genres called "ero-guro" that are quite disgusting, but this film is not a good example of hentai. watch "End of Summer" to get an idea of what most hentais are really like.

has anyone seen devilman...i cant remembr if i saw the film or the tv series but that effected me more...because i saw it with child eyes, maybe stuff in overfiend went over my head...but in devilman dogs weere hanged and rabbits were pinned to walls...now that freaked me out...and i think i cried...my brothers fault again...but in the end i knew it wasnt real..it was an anime...and i....i just cant think of anymore to say without rambling...coz i just dont get how any piece of cinema can effect someone so much...especially anime...unless they were already quite unstable#

I wanted to add my 2 cents about this movie and for what I wanted to say seems to fit best here. First off to the original poster who seen this whene young. Sorry for you. I seen it at the age of 16 when I seemed to be on a mission to bend my mind apart. I was allready into sex, drugs, and alcohol allready when a friend of mine had a party at his mom's house ( she was away) featuring this movie. We were all 16 at the time and despite what anyone says this kind of thing was wasy to get a hold simply because no adults knew what the hell it was let alone the severity of what it actually was. I watched it again when I was 21 at another fiends house while smoking a massive amount of weed. This movie is undeniably the most f'ed up thing I've ever seen. It will tear your mind apart. It's one of those things that after you see it you can never unsee it. The story line was incomprihensible, of course it didn't matter anyway because it all ended up with over the top bloody... everything! The first time I watched it was because I was just looking for anything sexual to look at and didn't know what it was. The second time was on purpose my friends and I had an afternoon to kill and just decieded to look at something purely depravating. I say it's not that good of a movie anyway so don't put yourself through it if you don't have to.
