Adventure Kid

Was this any good? I saw it's by the original Overfiend team and was wondering if it was worth checking out. Or any suggestions for other Toshio Maeda based films? And its not that I don't like the tentacles or anything, but are the other films just more tentacle stuff? Because I'm worried that too many retreads might detract from the original. You know, like how George Romero's Living Dead series felt diluted after all those silly and seemingly endless line of "Return of the Living Dead" movies they keep showing on the Sci-Fi channel.
So are the other movies worth checking out? And are they Overfiend good (or at least close to it)? Or is it just watered down Urotsukidoji retreads?
