Mom rented this

Well, not MY mom. But when I was younger and working at a video store in Champaign, IL, I was told by another coworker that when this first came out on VHS, some lady comes in and rents it after just glancing at the front cover and seeing a picture of some kind of animation. She goes home, puts the tape into the VCR for her two kids (who are under 10 years old and into G.I Joe cartoons and toons of that variety), then leaves the room to make dinner. After a while, she hears the sounds of heavy breathing, grunting, moaning and screaming coming from the TV.

She goes to investigate and finds her kids staring with rapt attention at the TV which is depciting a scene of pretty explicit sex with some school-girl bent over and being taken from behind.

Needless to say, she sued the video store, even though the NC-17 sticker was on the front of the box (which she obviously ignored, and therefore lost the case). That was all it took to pique my curiosity, so I rented it and enjoyed it (as an adult understanding that this is a depiction of adult situations in an animated world).

See that's what happens when you live in a culture that's too ignorant to realize that animated films can be so much more than just cute, innocent stories for children.

I've seen this happen so many times, and you know why it keeps happening? Because parents don't give a **** about their children's interests. They just pick the first thing they see on the shelf that has a decent cover and hope it will shut their kids up and make em happy. That's the exact reason why terrible videogames based on popular franchises sell like hotcakes and then end up in the bargain bin a few months later, because parents don't bother to check if it's a game that actually has good quality.
