Sexuality over violence?

Why is it you find a lot of stigma attached to hentai movies such as Urotsukidoji, yet not for violent animes, within the fan community? People will look at you in a different light for watching monsters getting jiggy, but won't bat an eyelid when countless people are being sliced up.

But seeing sex has a much greater effect on the human mind than violence does. It's the most powerful form of propaganda.

It is weird... in many countries, movies shown on daytime tv can have plenty of blood and violence, butmovies with sexual scenes are banned.

I suppose it's exactly as a previous post said - sex generates life, violence ends it. It's like we're comfortable with violence because we know it's bad and don't like to think of ourselves as violent, whereas we're scared of sex because it's so good and powerful (both for pleasure and survival) and we know we should all do it sometime, therefore it's more personal.
But I'm no psychologist, that's just my idea.

I'm not sure why this concept is so hard for a lot of people to grasp, but as the previous poster pointed out: sex is personal.

Also, what would affect you more?
1.) A guy walks up to you and stabs you in the stomach with a knife, with the blade penetrating one inch into your fleshy belly.

2.) A guy walks up to you and jams his finger into your butt...one inch in.

One of those two are going to have a longer lasting effect on your psyche. One will also incite a physiological reaction that you may or may not want to happen while the other will simply result in blood loss.

Sexuality will always be about personal reactions. It's the same way that a child who is molested is oftentimes more confused about their sexuality and feelings than a child who is simply physically abused. Both are bad but reap different psychological results. You can apply this same line of conduct to the way people react and respond to movies dealing with both forms of subject matter.

either way, that dude dies.

Laugh, and the world thinks you're crazy.
Weep, and the world thinks you're bipolar.
