At first it seems like a normal picture, but if you can look past Binoche's beauty, you can see a (skinny) person to her right against the window in the background. Who is this??
Early in Blue, Julie visits a girl - maybe her husband's publisher - to obtain the unfinished music scores. She takes them and throws them into a garbage truck. Later, when she's helping her neighbour at the strip club, Julie sees a TV show which has copies of the score. When she goes to confront the publisher, a young man - the publisher's lover - looks at Julie through a side window.
“When you give trousers to a monkey, the trees will end up with lots of scarfs.”
The exact profession of that girl is "copyist". Otherwise, donrocin has the full story. It's a nice scene. Julie is at the same time angry at the copyist for having made a double of the manuscript, yet not able to refrain a witty comment. Looking at the guy running out and hiding, she says, smiling (I forgot the exact line, and my reference is the original French version): "Obviously, you have not watched the TV show".
