I just re-watched this film after not seeing it in a long time, it's still a terrible movie, but it's one of those terrible but good movies and after the way it ended, I seriously would have loved a movie sequel. I have been hoping they'd decide to do another live action Mario film, this time around make it more faithful to the games, obviously, but any way, here's a website I found that has a comic book sequel. I haven't read it yet, but it sounds interesting. Give it a look. :)

They could absolutely make a sequel and NOT A REMAKE.

John Leguizamo is still acting. He could reprise. And with CG technology the way it is these days, they can just CG Bob Hoskins right in the movie.

I think the web comics is being cancelled. There could be sequels just left as fan fiction. I have 2 entries on the movie. As they might not complete the web comics they should have real sequels but has to be non profitable. Maybe the Scapelli character's fate is resolved and the Super Koopa Cousins return along with the cop played by Don Lake.
