Bob Hoskins was wrong

He called this his worst movie. I guess he thought Heart Condition was better. I think he was wrong. Heart Condition was worse. It was so bad, Denzel Washington fired his agent because of it. I don't know when he made these comments, but I also have to say that Son of the Mask was worse. Sadly, he was in that.

Son of the Mask and this movie, 2 of the worst movies ever, don't know what was he thinking

reply

I think he was talking mostly about his experiences during production, not just about the quality of the final product. The full quote is:

"The worst thing I ever did? Super Mario Brothers. It was a *beep* nightmare. The whole experience was a nightmare. It had a husband-and-wife team directing, whose arrogance had been mistaken for talent. After so many weeks their own agent told them to get off the set! *beep* nightmare. *beep* idiots."

Son of the Mask is by far his worst.

Only bad mouthes it years later when it's cool to hate it

No, it was always cool to hate it. I paid to see this in a theater back in 93. Never had I seen an audience disappointed to a person as they left. You could practically see the WTF looks on everyone's faces. I mean there was nothing redeemable about it, and this was a heavily pushed summer blockbuster type deal.

Son of the Mask is hands down his worst movie ever, and one the worst movies of all time.

Super Mario Bros is not that bad. It's biggest downfall is that it is nothing like the games. The plot also has little logic, but it is still just a fun adventure with cool sets that are nice to look at, and the acting actually isn't that bad. Bob Hoskins and John Leguizmo are both AMAZING actors. I know it is still not an amazing movie, but at least it is not absolutely atrocious like Son of the Mask.

I also didn't think Heart Condition was that bad. I remember catching it on TV as a kid and it kept me entertained. Don't know why Denzel hates it so much, there is way worse movies out there.
