Better than many think

I'm sick of people saying how bad an actor Bruce Willis is. I enjoyed this movie, and ALL THREE of the Die Hard movies were good. The first one was the best, yes, but With A Vengence wasn't as bad as most say, it was actually really good for an action movie.

I am a Bruce Willis fan but I disagree on this one, this to me is one of his worst, Sarah Jessica Parker is horrible in this. But i agree that Bruce is terribly underrated and Die hard 3 rocks!

a good action movie does not involve good acting. remember that. striking distance must be one of willis' lesser achievements though, but perhaps because the action genre is more dependent on good writing than quality performances, we can blame the film's writers? we all know willis can play the brilliant, but troubled outsider, with no respect for authority and no access to a razor. he suits the role of the angry man bearing a grudge or running on anger, but does it better in "the fifth element". problem is, when it comes to playing a character that feels real and has depth, willis is far from impressive. his character in "pulp fiction" is an example of this; tarantino gives him everything he needs to have an impact on an audience, a history, some emotion and purpose etc., but even with awesome writing behind him willis fails to be memorable. i think as far as acting goes he is forgettable and bland, not to mention cliched.

i also think that the acting is not the problem, Willis is a fine actor and can play many different roles, maybe he was told to play his character this way, as most actors/actress are. lets no forget they are under direction if the director wants the role a certain way then the actor plays it that. i still loved the film, thought it was enjoyable

I"ve just watched this on UK TV and its total crap. The guy who plays the killer gives the gayest performance in the history of acting.

What the hell are you talking about? Where you smoking crack at the time?

I caught the great action last nite! Willis, Parker, and Farina are amazing and awesome. I felt sad that Mahoney's character was snuffed out. There was quite a bit of Verbal Abuse, here, and I would have fired Brion James, for his nasty behavior.

Everybody in the movie has been better elsewhere, but the movie is better than it's reputation suggest.

Who says violence is not the answer?

Well I just watched this movie and I thought it was decently alright, however that still isn't good enough for me.. its too 90's feel, and the directing coulda been better, same with the acting though it wasn't bruces fault i blame the script 2.. sry ya'll i'm a critic

This movie is not Willis's best but not his worst either. It's not as bad as 12 Monkies was. It's not ment to be a Award Winner just a suspensful bang bang shoot um up cop movie. The car chases are good as well as some of the action sequences. I'm waiting for Die Hard 4.0 to come out this summer. Hopefully it won't suck!

reply

Sorry, but i have to disagree with you on that. SD was alright, but really nothing special. I wouldn't say it sucked compared to some of the crap released today, but compared to a movie like 12 Monkeys it just isn't even worth mentioning.
