great supporting cast
Just watched this after not seeing it for years. What struck me first was the uneasy mix of 'comedy', or rather one-liners and falling off boats which the filmmakers must want us to think are funny; combined with a nasty serial killer plot. Second- Sarah Jessica Parker is just buttugly and irritating, how she's supposed to be any sort of sex object is beyond me. Whoever cast her could have done much better. Third- excellent supporting cast, you get Dennis Farina, Brion James, Tom Atkins and Tom Sizemore. Great charcter actors are sorely lacking in a lot of today's films. Fourth- reasonable action, but a lot of Bruce's river policing feels stretched or grasping at straws to give him something to do. I mean, pulling over guys for drinking? Stumbling on whatever is happening on that barge? The reality is probably even less exciting.
