Hey there Little Red Riding Hood

Does anybody know who performs the "Hey there Little Red Riding Hood" song from the film "Striking Distance"? Cool song, which I don't remember hearing when I first saw the film. It has me interested now, because it will be shown on television in a few days here, and the commercials promoting the film's screening feature a little bit of the song. Don't know its name, just the lyrics, "...hey there Little Red Riding Hood.." I'd love to know the name of the song (although I can probably guess!) and like I said who performs it.

I have a compilation album with that song on it, I will find out for you

The song is called "Little Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs.

reply

Wrong. The song is sung by Eric Bourdon & the Animals.

No YOUR wrong scagnetti777. I just finished watching the film on Ch5 in Scotland and I checked to see who sang the song and on the credits it said Sam The Sham and The Pharoahs.

reply

The song is Little Red Riding Hood by Paul Revere and The Raiders.

reply

The song in the film was by Sam the Sham and the Pharohs. However, several other groups have released versions of the song including the Doors and the Rolling Stones. But the original recording (and the on int he film) is by Sam the Sham and Pharohs.

Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.

Check the credits, and you will all be proven wrong. It was Doobie Doo-Wop and the Dancing Dalmatians, sang first in 1961.

According to the imdb.com Soundtracks for Striking Distance list it was performed by Sam The Sham and The Pharoahs. So speechless926 had it correct with the first answer to the question.

Are y'all sure it wasn't Motley Crue? I thought they covered this on their gospel album?
