Does anyone have any suggestions on movies similar to Sniper? I really liked this movie and I saw Sniper 2 also and liked it. I'm gonna rent Sniper 3 this weekend. I also read a book called 'Marine Sniper' by Charles Henderson that was about a Marine Sniper in vietnam that was somewhat similar to the Sniper movie. It was a very good book and a true story too.
not really anything to do with war......but The Day of The Jackal might be something you're looking for (I didn't like the end though).

shareBlackhawk Down is an absolutely amazing film. Tragically, this film is very accurate and a true story. The others are good movies, but mostly Hollywood fiction.
Any Rambo wantabe who thinks he is tough should watch Blackhawk Down. If he tells you he wasn't/wouldn't be terrified in every scene you can bet he is in an idiot.
FYI: There is a documentary called The True Story of Blackhawk Down with interviews of the real soldiers. Watch it and don't be affraid to cry.
If you liked the documentary get the special edition DVD. There is comentary from
Sgt. Eversman, Col. Mcnight, Col. Mathews, and Col. Van Arsdale who was the highest ranking delta operator there.

"Marine Sniper" by Henderson is a great book about Carlos Hathcock, who had 93 confirmed kills in Vietnam. Great book.
shareI think you'd really like Saving Private Ryan, it shows how a sniper can be part of a team back in WW2, and the role he plays in combat, it even has a similar kill to an infamous one in sniper, I won't spoil.
Another movie you'll like is Clear and Present Danger, also has a really good sniper.
Also i'm not sure if Kellys Heros has a sniper in it, but I know there is some guy in a bell tower at the end, so you should probably watch that as well.
