Does Miller Have Mental Problems?

I have seen this movie several times and unless I've missed something, it appears to me that Miller has some mental issues. It's the way he treats his PARTNER Beckett, even apparently ready to kill him for some weird reason.
Any enlightenment is appreciated.

I think Miller going after Beckett like that was supposed to demonstrate Miller breaking down after his first kill and dealing with the feelings that came with that. Since he was killing with Beckett, in his irrational state I guess he held Beckett partly responsible and directed his anger and hurt at him.

Why this provoked him to try to kill Beckett is anyone's guess.

"Great, just jump all over me, why don't you?
What about the nine kids I DIDN'T lose this week?"

Remember he said he only felt that "rush" when Beckett was in his sights. I think this correlates to how Beckett had been treating him like a rookie and now that Miller has a kill he feels that he could stand up to Beckett.
