Renegade sniper

Hi all - I think this film is awesome, however since I have bought the DVD there is a question which has been sorta confusing me.

In the film, we clearly see Beckett kill the renegade sniper by shooting him through the eye, for some reason this was removed from the DVD and we just see him, the night before they get to the rebel house, jump the renegade and presumably break his neck as he drops him to the ground (and says "renegade")

However, if this is so, who is the sniper that is going to shoot Miller, which Beckett saves him from (and so doesnt get to shoot his target)? Is this just randomly another sniper, a guard or did Beckett not actually kill the renegade sniper the night before?

I think it was another mercenary sniper since the guy Beckett sniped had short hair i think and the guy he killed in the barn had long dark hair.

Old post, I know...

The renegade that was trained by Beckett was later shot through his eye. A completely different Panamanian sniper who was watching over the compound spotted Miller. Beckett killed this man in hand-to-hand combat, stabbing his foot and breaking his neck. These two snipers killed by Beckett were unrelated.
