Anyone here thought it sorta had that "Rear Window" feel to it? Even the part where they were watching the daughters step-dad abusing her. Anyone?
shareThere are definitely similarities to REAR WINDOW, though obviously SLIVER is not quite as good. Still I much prefer SLIVER to BASIC INSTINCT.

Both have gorgeous slightly frosty blondes
Both plots are moved forward by murder
Both involve the habit big-city dwellers allegedly have of “watching” their neighbors
But Hitch’s movie is so much better! Besides Rear Window would never have happened in the era of TV and the Internet would it? “Miss Torso” and “Miss Lonely-Hearts” couldn’t complete with HBO & adult web-sites; though Grace could probably hold her own even today.
Deep down, I'm pretty superficial.
