Joe Eszterhas

Why does writer Joe Eszterhas hates this film?
I read the producers changed a lot of things, and they had to completely change the ending, or it'd be incomprehensible.
Does anyone know what was changed, or how the original ending was supposed to go?

I agree with you.
That workprint ending has nothing to do with the movie.
I'd rather stick with the "Get a life" ending, much better. And I do think it's a good ending for the movie. I do like Sliver.

It must be terrible for a writer to see the producers changing something that your name will be forever attached to, but let's face it, if that was the ending Joe Eszterhas had planned for the movie, it was lame.

You know what's so strange, is that this version that you're refering to is the Unrated version, and everyone is more familiar with this verion then the original released. I agree, the movie isn't the best, but I like it in a "so-bad-it's-good" sort of way.

I was 8 years when the movie was first released, and even though I've seen it on cable, I don't remember how it ended. But I brought it on DVD last year and I seem to think that the ending in the Unrated version is slightly better then the one describe by donna_harwood-2. That ending sounds horrible.
