I think she's supposed to be a knock-off of Dr. Laura, so I guess she has a PhD in Physiology.

anyone remember the goofball comedy joe dirt ? heck i must have seen that movie a half a dozen times.
anyway......the woman who does the voice of dr fieldstone and who talks to tom hanks and his kid is the same woman who plays joe dirts mother . Remember the one who collected the porcelin dolls to sell ? same woman.
