shareWell, obviously he himself didn't enjoy her company very much. He was the kind of guy who couldn't say 'NO' when she offered to come to his place and cook for them. And then, he probably wanted to make sure it wasn't just his not wanting any relationship after his wife's death. He wanted to see that his son didn't like her, either.
Plus a big chunk of the story is how Jonah doesn't like her - we'd miss a lot of stuff if Jonah had never met her. The dinner, the 2nd call, the airport?
