MEN DON'T GET THIS MOVIE...

I, my Brother and Father had no trouble 'getting' either a AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER (1957) or its original LOVE AFFAIR (1939). My S.O. (Ms. xerses13) and I have both on DVD and watch them at least once a year. This is typical feminist B.S. There are some men whose lives totally revolve around ESPN, the N.B.A. or N.F.L. hopefully they neither breed or vote. Then again I feel the same way about most of the women on THE VIEW. Watching SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE (1993) on TCM right now as of this posting.

I was watching AATR on Netflix the other night and my husband was in the living room with me on the computer. I didn't think he was paying attention but, at the end, he said "Wow, that was a good movie!". I don't understand why men can't allow themselves to like a movie that doesn't involve explosions or car chases. I hate hearing the term "Chick Flick."

"The end of the shoelace is called the...IT DOESN'T MATTER!"

shadaif; Thinking Men do enjoy various mediums of the arts. I guess it is just how you are raised.

Man here.

Love both An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle. Hated You've Got Mail but loved Shop Around the Corner.

reply

You don't either.

It's a JEW propaganda movie made to pervert our minds. Just look at the loud mouthed coffee shop scene. That's about normalizing improper behavior among humans and confusing us.

reply

!!!deleted!!!; 'JEW propaganda'?! I can understand not liking the movie(s), but that is really a stretch.

I can watch Sleepless over and over. It's "magic." It's not that I don't "get" Affair, but it seems schmaltzy to me.
