Throwback to Death of a Salesman and the like

I watched this movie a couple of times, and was quite surprised that it seemed to be an homage to the late great plays, such as Death of a Salesman and A Streetcar Named Desire.

I say this because it seemed particularly pertinent at the end, where Ouisa is yelling at the dinner table, asking her peers and friends "how to keep the experience" without turning it into an anecdote.

Obviously, the other plays deal with different themes, but it just seemed like it went back to the old times, where the characters had no inner monologues and revealed everything in an eloquent but touching speech. Therefore, I was quite surprised when I realized it was filmed in the early nineties, as these type of movie are few and far in between.

So yes, this is just my two cents.

I'm not sure from your post if you are aware that "Six Degrees" was originally a play by John Guare.
