Jack Lemmon's appearance

I haven't seen this in a while, but one thing I took from it was the performance by Jack Lemmon. I remembered he came to visit his son in the hospital, oblivious to the seriousness of the young boy's injuries. And he used that time as an opportunity to explain an affair he had years earlier.

To me, that scene was remarkable. And Lemmon pulled it off like a tragic Shakespeare character.

This movie was pure genius. So was Robert Altman.

Easily the best performance in the film. That scene said all you needed to know about the character.
