at what house was this filmed?

does anyone know at what house this was filmed? i couldn't find anything in the credits about it.

It was filmed at Allerton Castle (aka Allerton Park) in North Yorkshire.

I think some of it was also filmed at Fountains Abbey, too.

Really? Which scenes?

imdb has a link for Secret Garden film locations

As for the exteriors of the house, that is Allerton Castle.
The interiors, specifically the staircases, however, were filmed in the St. Pancras station in London. I don't know about the actual rooms. I know the kitchen area was a classroom at Eton College.

And the interior(behind the ivy covered door)garden scenes were the Fountains Abbey filming spots. Note the gothic arches, etc.

Are the grounds--the rolling hills with the low stone walls, etc. that appeared to be at the same location actually adjacent to Allerton Castle, or was that filmed somewhere else?

I thought the areas shown were absolutely beautiful. I'd love to visit there someday.

Judging from pictures, when they arrived at the house in the beginning it was Allerton Castle. When Mary was told to go play outside after Martha gave her the jump rope, she walked down steps that were at Fountains Hall. I have never been to any of England.. I've always wanted to go, but after seeing this when I was younger it made me yearn to go so much more.
