What ended up happening to him? I mean it looks like his name went on the list but from the looks of things he was helping the Nazis and even took bribes in exchange for sending people to Schindler's Factory. I mean if I were one of the survivors I wouldn't be so quick to forgive him but maybe I'm missing something???????????? Now I guess I could possibly forgive him for helping the Nazis with the work detail and taking attendance (he did what he had to do to survive) but the accepting bribes and not just doing it to save lives I have a real problem with.

According to the novel Goldberg had connections outside of the labor camp. When he was able to leave Brinnlitz, he picked up his loot in Cracow - the bribes, and in the end diamonds for putting names on the list, and fled to Brazil as fast as he could.

I see, thanks for the insight, I always found it odd that the film shows Goldberg's name being called and his name going on the list (kind of curious what Spielberg was going for there). Also am I correct that it was actually Goldberg who typed the list and not Stern?

It wasn't Goldberg. The last we see him is wearing the watch bribe to bring over the Perlmans. He's not seen or mentioned in the 2nd half of the movie. In historical reality, Goldberg did provide the names that were eventually combined into a single list typed by Goeth's secretary Mietek Pemper.

Are you sure? I seem to remember his name being called out at the end, I'll have to watch it at the end. Also what happened to the Perlmans, they also aren't mentioned at the end, I hope they made it.

You're right, Marcel Golberg is in the names on list train boarding scene. Don't know what happened to Regina Perlman's parents.
