Every Six Months? May 1 and Dec 1?

May 1st and November 1st are six months apart. Dec 1st is 7 months after May, and May is 5 months after December.

Was this a goof missed by everyone involved? or a deliberate error for some strange reason, showing how inept or panicked Gary Oldman's character was?
Caused me unnecessary distraction because I thought the error would have implications later on.

Anyway I loved the movie. Flawed genius beats slick emptiness every time. (And this was slick genius mostly)

Maybe it's because 7 + 5 divided by 2 is 6? So it's like saying "ABOUT [or ROUGHLY] every 6 months"?

Still a weird way to say it... it had to be intentional. And it was distracting.
