Confused on one part

I haven't seen this in a while, but I've always had a question. I think Sean Connery asks Wesley Snipes at what time he was called. Then, there Sean Connery replaces a pair of shoes at the entranceway with another. Why the hell did he do that? Made no sense to me.

reply

I don't think Connery was trying replace anything(shoes). He just put the shoes(Jingo's) from the floor to the rack.

My confusion is... beside Yoshida, everybody trying to put through the sale of MicroCon with all means, included Eddie. But why to frame Eddie was necessary? Blackmailing the Senator would do already. And Cheryl didn't need to die too.

reply

Killing Cheryl convinced the Senator, who was banging her on the side (as a gift from Eddie) that the other side was playing hardball. Remember that Eddie's side was bidding for control of the American Company as well.

The video showed the Senator leaving after banging Cheryl. That in and of itself was enough to bury him and he knew it, so he cut a deal with the Rival Company. If they would take the heat off him, he would agree to let their merger go through. In the process they framed Eddie, who's father was heading their rivals in the purchase. What better way to discredit the competition?

Cheryl was not a gift from eddy he just happened to walk in and see that the senator and cheryl were doing it, Sean Conerey notes that although he was a jeolous man he saw the opportunity to blackmail the seator, little did he know that others from the rival company (those that owned the building) were also watching and had the same idea.

It was Sean Connery's character that brought up Cheryl being a "gift from Eddie." Snipe's character commented on Eddie watching when they saw the uncut disc, mentioning something about why Eddie just stood there watching, and that he thought Eddie was the jealous type. That was when Connery mentioned that Cheryl was probably a gift from Eddie - a way of gaining the Senator's favor. Remember that Eddie's father was part of a Japanese consortium that was bidding against the other group for control of the American Company.

i think he was just trying to play along & the foot thing was probably due to his athletes foot.

I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "... I drank what?"
