Aids Test

I was reading a post where it said it was a rumor for those who want to know it was/is not watch Tupac Ressurection you'll see

It's true. It's well documented that she treated Pac like crap on the set. Yes, she insisted he get an HIV test before they did their kissing scenes.

reply

Hell, woluld you blame her? I would have asked them to write out kissing scenes PERIOD with that dude.

Then she shouldn't have agreed to do the film, to begin with.

She wanted to do the film as a career move. She wanted to do the film with Tupac and John Singleton, because they were both hot at the time. She knew she would be starring alongside Pac, from the get go. She rolled with it, because many r&b fans (her consumer base) then were starting to gravitate toward hip hop. Then when she gets on the set, she plays Queen Pretentious. Pac is the one that should have quit the movie. Or, better yet, demanded a new costar. And, he could have gotten it. They didn't need Janet Jackson to make this film work. She did a fine job with her character but not a job that a dozen mid twenties, attractive, African American actresses at that time couldn't have done. Nia Long could have killed that role, and she already had a director/actor chemistry with Singleton from Boyz.

I like Janet Jackson but the publicized games she played on the set of PJ revealed that she really does need to get out more. That woman lives in her own world.

If Janet and/or Tupac really felt that way why were they at the premiere together hugging and holding hands? This is a tired rumor that just needs to go away.

Good point, flocism. I don't know of any interview where Pac or Janet talk about any indifferences. I'm a victim of the hype, too. I hope it is a rumor. I'd much better imagine those two brilliant and talented individuals enjoying each other's company than not, especially considering one of them is no longer with us.

Janet and Tupac got on well during the shoot. It was just ignorance about HIV/AIDS(which was rampant)at the time. Her only bad judgement was believing one could be infected via a kiss(which it can't).

who cares.. they still looked good together...

if anything he should have asked for a test as well.

reply

I believe the interview is in Tupac: Resurrection. He says that he would have taken the AIDS test it he was really gonna have sex with her. He says "If I could have sex with Janet Jackson, I'd take FOUR AIDS tests." So he refused. Then, he says John Singleton was sent to ask him on her behalf and another guy and another guy but he still refused.

I am sure that some of the rumors could be true, but I do know that now a days before an actor can sign onto a film they have to be insured so if something happens to them the production company can get money back to reshoot or whatever they need for solving the problem. Due to this all insurance companies require health checkups be done.

*That's my opinion and I am sticking to it*

tupac said that after the film was done janet totally flipped the script on him. I can't believe that everyone is lying on her.

reply

I honestly believe her then husband had a lot to do with all of this. She said in the end she was played by him. Tupac was hurt by the test requests however, I do not believe that it was her by herself that suggested it.

What I heard was Janet had gotten mono from kissing Q-Tip and her management freaked out about it. That's when they went to Tupac with the AIDS test requests. It didn't come from Janet, it came from her people who were scared that she would get sick again.

Keep in mind that this film was shot bin the early 90's. Back then people were really waking up to AIDS and it was no longer being known as the "Gay disease". I'm sure Janet's people were afraid of the epidemic. She was at the height of her career back in 92' and she'd reach a higher peak with the release of her Janet Album and the Poetic Justice film so they took some precautions for their major star.
