Capture of the F-117 Nighthawk

I haven't seen the film in a long while, I actually only remember seeing the F-117 disappearing in the film but I read the plot on the Wikipedia page. Just wondering how would it have been captured by the Nazis? They couldn't shoot it down so would it have landed at an airbase under the mistaken belief it was under USAF control? The Wiki page says it was 'found' by a scientist??

If impersonating a Police Officer is an offence, shouldn't actors be imprisoned?

In the original 1993, Mailer says the experiment would teleport the F117 to Wiesbaden, Germany. There is a U.S. Air Field there that also existed in 1943 as a Luftwaffe air base. I'm guessing that was the plane's final destination. Some have said it landed at Rammstein 65 miles southwest, except that it hadn't been built until 1948.

I'm guessing that this is what happened. At the very beginning of the movie they were taking David's blood. From it they created a serum and gave it to the U.S. Pilot before the flight. Since the aircraft was both in flight with its landing gear secured, the pilot would of had to of survived the trip in order to land the plane at Wiesbaden. Shortly after landing (being unaware it was 1943 and the base being under Nazi control) he was captured and more than likely interrogated by Mahler.
Jet aircraft like the Me 262 had not been invented, so he would have had to of gotten the information needed to train a Luftwaffe pilot to fly and operate it. -- When David goes back to destroy the F-117 the pilot may of either of already been executed or in a prison cell.
