A heart-stopping, spine-chilling...

...adrenaline-pumping, run-for-your-life thriller.

That's how film critic and #19 nationally ranked 'Quote Whore' Pat Collins described this movie. Naturally hers was the review that the distributors selected to be featured on the DVD cover.

Naturally.

I, for one, genuinely loved this movie. It's got Julia Roberts, one of my all-time favourite actresses. It's got Denzel Washington, he being my go to guy when I need pure, 100% class and charisma.

It also has some exciting chase scenes and a magnificent sense of dread and corruption. Plus, y'know it has got the simply stunning Tony Goldwyn in it. And the pres is delightfully slimy.

I also cannot get enough of the Roberts / Washington pairing. Plus the ending always gets me moist eyed.

The Pelican Brief is one of those films that I can watch and rewatch over and over again and never have it get tired.

Additionally the support cast, John Lithgow, Stanley Tucci, John Heard, Sam Shepard, are dynamite.

Jake Weber from the Dawn of the Dead reimagining and Cynthia Nixon from Sex and the City are both wonderful.

As is William Atherton. Ditto Anthony Heald.
