I think you might be thinking of John Grisham's "The Firm". In it, there is a scene where Holly Hunter plays a secretary to Gary Busey's Private Detective character. Upon hearing someone entering the office after hours, Holly's character ducks under the desk for fear of being caught by his wife. Later, she is able to correctly identify this albino man from beneath the desk having been facing the other way. I found this completely ludicrous myself. Being under gunfire under a desk facing the wrong way and yet she was able to identify him later. Kind of lame on John Grisham's (or the director's) part.
But the movie you are referring to is "The Firm".
