Laim, you have got to be kidding me, this movie is one of the worst van Damme's ever made.If you dig this movie you aren't really a fan of van Damme's martial art skills, because there is hardly any in this movie. The family with kids act like they had *beep* for breakfast and the romance thing wasn't credible at all.
Watch some of his earlier movies and you'll see that he's way better with martial arts than acting like a fake hero in this movie.
This movie is fun as hell. And movies are made to entertaint, isn't it??
shareThat made no sense buddy haha... however, this movie is entertaining; if that is what you mean.
sharelove love it. was watching it again yesteday ,cant get over it,just love everything about the movie.two fav scenes, when he jumps onto the motorbike and when Mookie turns back and calls sam, Van actually looks very hansome in this movie.

It's better than "Hard Target" that came out the same year for sure!! This one at least was filmed in the old school style, had a plot, a good actress playing JCVD love interest & Van Damme gave one of his best performances. I know there's plenty of John Woo fans out there but i can't stand his directing / camera style, he should never crossed the line to Hollywood, they should had let him stick only to Asian movies.
shareI like Hard Target and I like that John Woo directed it.
But I also like Nowhere to Hide and the fact that it is a different sort of film with a more traditional story line.
JCVD was well-suited to the role of Sam the escaped convict and IMO it worked well leaving the martial arts out of this film.
I enjoy Nowhere to Run. My second favorite after Sudden Death.

This is certainly one of Van Damme's more mature movies (a western more than an action movie), even if that isn't saying much to many. Overall it's a predictable, albeit satisfying movie with good performances and some striking scenes.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

Its good not great though.
shareHard Target? That movie is great for the mullet/trench coat look alone.
