Good. Enough is enough.

Good for him

reply

Something tells me Disney will remake it anyway.

reply

It's crazy considering he is the remake/reboot king. Just looking at his last directed movies.
Addams Family
Dumbo
Dark Shadows
Alice in Wonderland
Sweeney Todd
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Planet of the Apes
Sleepy Hollow

I guess when it's his work he doesn't want someone else reimagining it.

reply

Sleepy Hollow is a remake?

reply

It is a reimagining of the cartoon and original short story. He pretty much just saved the characters' names and that is it from the original story, Ichabob isn't even a schoolteacher in Burtons version.

I'm sure if someone did a live action take on Nightmare Before Christmas Burton would disapprove.

reply

I'd argue it's not a remake. It's nothing like the Disney cartoon. I like it. Besides, what's wrong with adapting a classic story?

reply

I dont dislike his remakes and reimaginings I'm simply saying it's a bit hypocritical to suddenly take a stand against someone doing it to his work because he thinks it's too culturally significant or personal.

reply

I see. It is a bit hypocritical. I agree. Personally I'd kind of like to see a reboot about Santa getting tired of his holiday and trying to take over Halloween.
