Burton says he doesn't want any sequels or reboots
share
Good. Enough is enough.
shareGood for him
shareSomething tells me Disney will remake it anyway.
shareIt's crazy considering he is the remake/reboot king. Just looking at his last directed movies.
Addams Family
Dumbo
Dark Shadows
Alice in Wonderland
Sweeney Todd
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Planet of the Apes
Sleepy Hollow
I guess when it's his work he doesn't want someone else reimagining it.
Sleepy Hollow is a remake?
shareIt is a reimagining of the cartoon and original short story. He pretty much just saved the characters' names and that is it from the original story, Ichabob isn't even a schoolteacher in Burtons version.
I'm sure if someone did a live action take on Nightmare Before Christmas Burton would disapprove.
I'd argue it's not a remake. It's nothing like the Disney cartoon. I like it. Besides, what's wrong with adapting a classic story?
shareI dont dislike his remakes and reimaginings I'm simply saying it's a bit hypocritical to suddenly take a stand against someone doing it to his work because he thinks it's too culturally significant or personal.
shareI see. It is a bit hypocritical. I agree. Personally I'd kind of like to see a reboot about Santa getting tired of his holiday and trying to take over Halloween.
