Speculation - Willis cameo written for Gibson

Can anyone confirm this? Its just my guess but it makes perfect sense. Imagine that after the Beach front trailer is blown up it was revealed to actually be the home of MARTIN RIGGS! LOL! Which would have been the ultimate joke considering Emilio Estevez character and that scene was a parody of Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon. I guess that Gibson passed or was unavailable and Bruce Willis was the next best choice. But the specifics of the scene don't fit John McClain at all.

Sure it fits John McClain. He was always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Besides... it's WAY funnier with Bruce. I somehow just can't imagine Mel being as funny, especially since it would be a somewhat obvious choice. Part of what makes Bruce funny in it is the pure randomness.

Well it is a Leathal Weapon spoof, so i'm guessing the beach trailer was supposed to be just like the beach trailer in Lethal Weapon, though i agree that Mel wouldn't've been as good as Willis, like the other poster said, the pure randomness of McClane popping up is what made it.

Either youre part of the problem or youre part of the solution or youre just part of the landscape

No, Bruce did it because his brother was the producer.

"Walker, you resilient bastard!"

lol That would've been awesome.
